Storytelling from London to Brooklyn to the World

Bio/Contact

Born and raised in London, Louisa has lived and worked in New York City for over 20 years and has been screenwriting for over 10 years. 

She assisted Seth Zie Rosenfeld (The Get Down, How to Make it in America) during his tenure at Columbia University teaching the graduate screenwriting course where she first got the screenwriting bug. Since then she has written, co-written and shot  a number of feature length screenplays, pilots and short films.

She recently started branching out into directing for an episodic comedy “Car Mom” which she created and wrote and she has been nominated for best episodic writer with the Black and Latino Film Coalition. She is also in the planning stages of a production of a kids reality show she also created, “ Just try it” (working title). 

She recently completed writing for a 72 hour film challenge of an all female crew for a short film called Mila and Mimi Too. 

She worked on Kate Cortesi’s short film Lazarus, Joseph Grant’s feature Legendary and is currently a teaching artist for an intensive film program with Manhattan Youth Project.

In addition she has worked in broadcast production with Ed Burns, Vincent Rubino, and Wild Ocean Films, TV production for Naomi Juddʼs show, Naomiʼs New Morning and film production with leading documentarian, Michelle DaCosta for The Prince of Hip Hop. She has worked as an international reporter for a UK based magazine, 101 and for Ellen Barkin as a junior assistant. In addition, Louisa featured in Christy Turlingtonʼs documentary, No woman No Cry and has created and produced various video blogs for Real Savvy Moms, an award winning PBS TV show turned internet series.

She assisted Seth Zvi Rosenfeld (The Get Down, How to Make it in America) during his tenure at Columbia University teaching the graduate screenwriting course where she first got the screenwriting bug. Since then she has written, co-written and shot  a number of feature length screenplays, pilots and short films in the narrative, corporate and documentary spaces.

In 2018, Louisa won the Lionsgate’s “Spy Who Dumped Me” female story tellers competition for the short film she co-wrote, “Mila and Mimi Too” which premiered as an official selection of HBO'S Women in Comedy Film Festival (2018) and won best screenplay at The Broad Humor Festival (2019). 

She has partnered with a variety of brands to produce and deliver original content in the corporate storytelling field such as “The Insider’s Guide to Brooklyn series” and has created various video blogs for Real Savvy Moms, an award winning PBS TV show turned internet series.

In addition, she has collaborated in the doc-series space as a storyteller, field producer and story editor with projects currently in development.

She currently freelances while continuing to create original projects and branded content while maintaining her support of youth in film as a teaching artist for the Manhattan Youth filmmaking program for middle schoolers.

Louisa lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two son’s.
